THE OFFICIAL GOODBYE [Dec. 9th, 2005|11:37 pm]
[mood |nostalgicnostalgic]
[music |VAST - I need to say Goodbye]

For those of you who haven't noticed, I have stopped using this journal. This era of my life is over and done with. It's been a great ride, and I'm greatful that I'll have this to reflect on some of the more fond moments, and hopefully I'll learn from some of the more negative ones. I'll continue to monitor those of you on my friends list from time to time, but I'll no longer be posting any personal updates or entries. If I add anything at all, It'll simply be a recomendation for whatever media I'm currently enthralled with. With that being said, I'll close with couple of links I recommend you follow. Evan and Kyle will back me up here, as they've already witnessed the woggy goodness for themselves. Again, It's been fun, but I must be moving on now. Don't worry, this is just a good-bye to my LJ, not to my friends. So, as I send this digital time-capsule off into the great vastness of Server, I say.. "So long, Farewell, and END OF LINE"

"... oh my god! And what do you call this?" "The Aristocrats!" [Aug. 15th, 2005|05:38 pm]
I do not have the skill it takes to tell "The Aristocrats" joke properly, but with a little time and practice, I hope to be able to one day.

LAUNCHcast Radio [Aug. 13th, 2005|09:00 pm]
Okay, this is going to read like a shamless plug, and in most ways, it is.

THIS IS THE FREAKIN' COOLEST THING I'VE FOUND ON THE NET IN A LONG TIME!
How could have this thing sat on Yahoo!'s frontpage for so long with me not finding it sooner?

If you have a Yahoo! Messenger/E-Mail account, then you can't afford not to check this shit out.

Log on to Yahoo! At the Frontpage
You click on "Music", then type in a bunch of bands/songs/albums you like
Rate them individually using the basic 4 star system.
Then when you have about 10 Artists or Albums rated, Click on "Play My Station" under "LAUNCHcast Radio"
Continue to rate songs as it plays and It'll learn your taste in music and start playing shit that you love but haven't heard of yet.
If you absolutely hate the song, or know it by heart already, you can rate it accordingly and then skip to the next track.

Okay.. the downpoints...

It only plays music at (I'm guessing) 96kbs unless you foot the $5 a month subscription fee.
Also, every 3rd or 4th song is followed by a 30 second commercial (Often the same commercial)
Annoying yes, but better than FM, and well worth what you get out of this for free (IMHO).

Give it a try.. I think you'll be pleasantly suprised by what it will throw out at you. A Tip before you go off to check it out though, when you picking your initial artists/albums, start with the more Obscure/Underground. Otherwise, it'll throw out alot of Top 40 BS at first.

Aparently I'm not the only one interested in Reliving My Past. [Aug. 12th, 2005|09:29 am]
[mood |excitedexcited]

While I was in West Virginia a week ago, my dad informed me that there is a Live Action Voltron Movie in the works. Shocked and Stunned that anyone still remembers Voltron, or that it has a strong enough following to get it's own Major Budget Film, I decided to dig up some of the early details. Turns out that not only is this true, but that Pharrell is going to be head of production for the soundtrack!

Then while Digging up info on Voltron, I discover that one of the reasons it's being made, is to compete with the Live Action Transformers movie coming out on the 4th of July, 2007. From what I've just read, we can expect only 5 robots on each side (5 Autobots, 5 Decepticons) and while at first I was crushed, I can understand. CG Animating these movies (Transformers Especially) Is going to cost a bundle. Plus, in the case of the Transformers, if you threw in the entire "Cast" of robots and tried to develop each character to a new audience in under 2 and a half hours, there would be no room for a plot and the movie would make no sense.

Now, onto the NEXT Feature Film Discovery I have made... FREAKIN' AEON FLUX! Even *I* Had completely forgotten about that show! Now it's a major film starring Charlize Theron! I'm just glad to see it has a plot now. I watched many installments of the animated series and couldn't make out much of a plot at all. Then again, I was like 13-15 when I was watching it.

Also, I have a feeling that I may have been the last to know, but DOOM is getting a full length film too. If the ads haven't started running on TV yet, they should be soon. Full Trailers are already available online. My only personal gripe with this one is that is stars Dwayne Johnson. (B.K.A.- "The Rock") I'll Also be kinda dissapointed if Trent has nothing to do with the Soundtrack. At the very least, there should be a track from With Teeth on the Movie soundtrack. Clint Mansell (A Nothing Records Artist) Is doing the score, which is promising, I loved what he did with the score for "Requiem for a dream".

And then there's the Aqua Teen Movie. Yeah... definitely will have to see that...

So Here's My Movie going schedule for the next couple of years..

DOOM - 21 October 2005

AEON FLUX - 2 December 2005

AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE: THE MOVIE - ? 2006

TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE - 4 July 2007

VOLTRON - ? 2007(8?)

Planning for the 180, Part One [Aug. 7th, 2005|12:14 pm]
[mood |determined]

So in case some of you were out of the loop, my life has changed, and is going to continue to do so in very drastic ways from here on out. After I lost Hannah before she could see me make something of myself, I've decided that I don't want to live with the guilt of possibly having anyone else I care about die thinking that I've wasted my life and will amount to nothing. In fact, I'm tired of people thinking that in general, so with a little help from Dad and Jack, this will cease to be the case.

Now, I've done some basic research and I've come up with a possible scenario.

I'd live here, which is only this far, from the school I want to go to.

I chose the Apartment because it's affordable without being completely ghetto. $665 a month that far into the city for something that decent is a steal.

As far as the school, well, ITT Tech carries with it a certain distinction, and anyone that knows me knows my love of all things technological. I'd probably shoot for the Data Communication Systems Technology course. Finally learn all the things that I don't know, which I'm sure is still quite a bit. But with my own personal background and enthusiam in this field, It'd be almost impossible for me to fail.

Input anyone? Good Idea? Bad Idea? Anything I'm overlooking here?

Officially In the Running [Jul. 25th, 2005|08:12 am]
[mood |optimisticoptimistic]

After a week and a half or so of waiting, Today I found that my NiN Remix is finally on the List at ninremixes.com

Mine is #90 on the list. A nice, round, even number I believe. Now I'll get to see how it stacks up against all the others on there. Granted, 100 different variations of the same tune can get a bit redundant to say the least, but I've already been "scoping out the competition" and some people have gone so far as to only keep the original lyrics and put them to 100% original music. I didn't go quite that far, but IMHO, I did a little better than some people by adding a new drum beat at the very least. Some people didn't add any new elements, just switched around the original elements. It's like someone who buys a Lego Castle, but doesn't build it the way that they instructions tell you to, but they don't add any of their old lego pieces either.

I'm hoping for more than 10 + reviews and less than 5 - reviews. Fairly realistic goal I think...
Let's see what the masses have to say...

Another Desperate Cry for Help [Jul. 19th, 2005|03:47 pm]
[mood |aggravatedaggravated]

Okay, so here’s my problem.

My system has been randomly freezing for no apparent reason whatsoever. No particular program triggers this total system lockup, it just seems to happen at random. I’ve formatted my hard drive and re-installed windows several times in an attempt to clear it up, and everything seems to run smoothly each time until I get around to installing the networking protocols to get the computer on the net. Once the Microsoft networking client is installed, everything seems to go to hell. Sometimes it’ll freeze up on the initial log-on screen. Sometimes it’ll randomly reboot on it’s own or sometimes It’ll log on and everything will run fine for about 10mins until the lockup.

What’s worse is that it’s not the fact that it’s on the net that’s causing it to freeze, nor is it the cable modem being connected. It’ll still freeze at random without the Cable Modem connected to the computer, so it can’t be someone “hacking” my computer or any errant spyware messing with the system. It seems to be just the fact that the Microsoft Networking Clients are installed.

I’ve done numerous registry scans, spyware scans, virus scans, ect.. All with different utilities. At first I thought the lockups were being caused by scanning the registry too often and too many changes being made to it. That theory was shot down when I didn’t do any registry scans at all after a fresh Windows re-install and it still locked up.

I’m at my wits end. Any suggestions…theories… previous experience?
How do I get this machine to stop locking up?

A Wet Dream Come True [Jul. 7th, 2005|05:23 pm]
[mood |determined]

So check this out...

http://nin.com/access/only/

I have it.

I'm doing it..

I already have a rough draft for the intro.

Did you honestly think I'd be able to NOT do this?

It's not just my chance to "Work with" my hero,
but a chance for me to have a personalized custom remix of my current theme song.

In spite of all the shitty things that I've done to myself* recently,
my music will once again be my saving grace,
and help me hold my sanity together in the face of this shitstorm.

* yes, I'm blaming myself for all the fucked up things I'm going through right now. I did it all to myself.
